Volkswagen’s “sport sedan” is this New Midsize Coupe concept introduced several days ago in China at the Beijing Motor Show. It possibly acts as a sneak preview for a sleeker-looking Jetta, possibly a four-door coupe riding on the MQB-B platform. Such a vehicle would be positioned below the Passat and this concept is lower and shorter than the Jetta. It sits on 20-inch rims wrapped around in low-profile 245 tires. The body was painted in a Dragon Red hue while inside the cabin there’s space for five people and 500 liters worth of cargo.
Motivation comes from a TSI four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine outputting 220 PS sent to the road with help from a 7-speed DSG allowing the concept to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 151 mph. Volkswagen says the New Midsize Coupe concept is capable of providing a fuel consumption of 6.4 liters / 100 km.
