The Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion is now available on order and carries a starting price of €29,425 for the sedan and €30,500 for the wagon. VW says this is the “most economical and most environmentally friendly” Passat ever made and has received Copenhagen-style 16-inch alloys, aerodynamic body tweaks and an active shutter grille. It comes exclusively with a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter TDI turbodiesel engine generating 120 PS (88 kW) and a maximum torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft). The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front axle.
The 2015 Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion will need just 3.7 liters / 100 km (63.5 mpg US or 76.3 mpg UK) in the combined cycle, with corresponding CO2 emissions of only 95 g/km. VW says fuel consumption in the city stands at 4.3 liters / 100 km while on the highway it will sip only 3.3 liters / 100 km.
Volkswagen is already taking orders for the Passat BlueMotion so deliveries should start in a few months from now.
