The facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTI has received a healthy power package courtesy of ABT Sportsline. It’s based on the new version that came out last year with a 4-cylinder, 1.8-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine producing 192 PS and 320 Nm, but now the output numbers have grown to a more than generous 230 PS and 360 Nm thanks to the expertise of those working at ABT. The tuner doesn’t specify any performance details, but given the power boost, the 0-100 km/h sprint time has decreased a little bit from the series 6.7 seconds while top speed was bumped a little bit compared to the stock model which can do 236 km/h.
The Volkswagen Polo GTI facelift by ABT seen here rides on beefy 18-inch rims shod in 215/35 R18 tires and has received a custom muffler set featuring two end pipes. There’s also a faux carbon rear attachment on the spoiler at the back, along with tailored made suspension springs that lower the car by 25 mm front & 30 mm rear.
Lastly, ABT has installed a rear skirt set, sticker set (with two-tone carbon theme), new floor mats and LED door entrance lights that show the tuner’s logo. Those who have a 1.2 TSI Polo can ask ABT to work on the engine and lift its output from 110 PS and 175 Nm to 140 PS and 220 Nm.
