The Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has finally arrived on the UK market and it is based on the Altitude trim level. It brings the usual R-Line goodies, adding more equipment and better looks for the German SUV – all for a 750 pounds premium which is a lot less than before when you had to pay 4,000 pounds for the extra stuff. What has changed? For starters, the car now comes with 20-inch alloy wheels covered by 275/45 R20 tires, along with LED daytime running lights, bi-xenon headlights, new side skirts, revised front and rear bumpers, plus the usual R-Line badges so that you won’t forget you have a special car in the garage.
Moving inside the cabin, the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line has been fitted with a full-length panoramic electric sliding glass sunroof, keyless entry and start, R-Line sill plates, leather upholstery, Bluetooth, DAB radio, eight-inch color touchscreen display and an electrically operated tailgate.
The SUV can be ordered exclusively with a V6 3.0-liter diesel engine available in two states of tune: 150 kW (204 HP) and 180 kW (245 HP). Regardless of which one you choose, the power unit is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The less powerful model will set you back at least 44,025 pounds while the variant with more oomph starts from 45,645 pounds.
