Volkswagen has taken the wraps off the facelifted Scirocco which is programmed to go on sale this August. The German coupe has received a mild exterior makeover with new front and rear bumpers, different bi-xenon headlights, an updated front grille, LED taillights and an updated boot lid. It now comes with five additional exterior paint hues and a few revisions inside the cabin where there are new gauges for the turbocharger pressure, chronometer and oil temperature. We observe a new flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped around in leather, along with an extra storage area near the handbrake lever.
VW has updated the 1.4-liter TFSI engine and now delivers an extra 3 HP to offer a total output of 125 HP while the 2.0 TSI motor has also been upgraded as it’s now being offered with 180 HP, 220 HP and 280 HP. The more frugal 2.0 TDI is now available with either 150 HP or 184 HP. These engines are linked at standard to a six-speed manual transmission but for more money can work with a dual-clutch DSG (excluding the 1.4 TSI) delivering output to the front axle.
