Chevrolet has made an important announcement today by slashing no less than $5,000 from the Volt’s price tag for the 2014 model year. As a result, the plug-in hybrid model now has a starting price of $34,995, taking into account the $810 destination fee. Let’s also mention the fact that this car is eligible to various federal tax credits of up to $7,500 so some of you have the possibility of getting the car at $27,495.
The 2014MY Volt has been rated by EPA to return 98 MPGe and 35 mpg city / 40 mpg hwy when using the conventional gasoline engine.
The 2014 Chevrolet Volt can run solely on electric power for up to 38 miles (61 km) and for as much as 380 miles (615 km) when the range-extending engine is in action. Minor changes for the new model year include the addition of two exterior paints: Ashen Gray Metallic and Brownstowne Metallic, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Chevrolet says the 2014 Volt will hit dealerships at the end of this summer.
