Later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show, we will get to see the new Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD. It will represent Acura’s new flagship sedan and promises to be the “most powerful and technologically advanced Acura sedan ever made.” Its heart and soul will be a V6 i-VTEC 3.5-liter engine working together with no less than three electric motors which all together provide a combined output of 377 bhp (281 kW). This hybrid powertrain is mated to a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox that allows the car to have a fuel consumption of only 7.8 liters / 100 km (30 mpg US or 36 mpg UK).
The 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD will benefit from a torque-vectoring Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system and according to the Japanese automaker it has what it takes to provide “outstanding handling and all-weather performance capabilities.” The vehicle is set to reach Acura dealerships in 2014 and its price will be known closer to its market launch.
