Following an announcement made about two weeks ago, Acura has released full details about the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD which will be shown to the public later this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car is programmed to go on sale in the spring of next year and it will be available with a hybrid setup encompassing a V6 3.5-liter gasoline engine matched with a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission that incorporates an electric motor. The hardware arrangement also includes an electric SH-AWD system packing two rear-mounted electric motors. There’s also a lithium-ion 260-volt battery and a front electric motor producing 47 bhp (35 kW).
As a result of this setup, the Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD provides a combined power of 377 bhp and will return 28 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg in the combined cycle. While the exterior design is a copy of the standard model, the cabin has been equipped with a head-up display along with an electronic gear selector that has replaced the regular shifter mounted on the center console. Also inside you will find the AccuraLink connectivity system and an infotainment system with a seven-inch display.
