Caterham Seven 165 priced at 14,995 pounds
Caterham has disclosed more details and pictures concerning its newest production, the entry-level Seven 165 which will be available for 14,995 pounds in the component form or from 17,995 pounds if you opt for the fully built model. Its beating heart will be a small yet punchy 3-cylinder 660cc turbocharged engine sourced from Suzuki which meets the Euro 6 regulations and outputs a modest 80 HP and 107 Nm of torque. Caterham has announced the car will be known on the UK market as the Seven 160 while in other European countries will be sold under the Seven 165 moniker.
Those ponies will be put to the ground with help from a five-speed gearbox provided also by Suzuki but further tuned by Caterham’s engineers. As a result of this hardware arrangement, the car should be able to complete the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 6.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 100 mph (161 km/h).
Caterham says they will initiate production in January while the first deliveries will commence in spring.
