Caterham bringing Seven 165 Concept to IAA

British specialty marque Caterham has disclosed plans of showing the Seven 165 concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show which will open its doors in a couple of days. It was created as a preview for the firm’s entry-level model and will be motivated by a small three-cylinder 660cc turbocharged mill borrowed from Suzuki. The power unit develops a rather modest 80 HP (59 kW) and a peak torque of 79 lb-ft (107 Nm), but Caterham is saying it will be powerful enough to provide the same “level of pure driving fun” as the flagship Seven 485.

The production version is programmed to hit dealerships sometime in January 2014, with prices starting at around 25,000 euros, taking into account taxes.
