Honda unveils 2015 Legend for Japan
The 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid sold in United States is now available as a Honda Legend in Japan, featuring the same styling and technical specifications. Deliveries of the model will commence on January 22, 2015 to all those willing to pay the ¥6,800,000 starting price for what Honda describes as being its flagship sedan at home in Japan. It comes with Jewel Eye LED headlight and packs a wide array of equipment including a digital speedometer, head-up display, 14-speaker Krell Industries audio system and a rear center armrest featuring a built-in color display.
Motivation is provided by a Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system encompassing a 3.5-liter V6 engine working together with two rear-mounted electric motors, one front-mounted electric motor, a seven-speed DCT gearbox and a 260-volt lithium-ion battery pack. This hardware setup allows the 2015 Honda Legend (JDM-spec) provide a combined output of 382 HP, enough for an acceleration performance better than in an equivalent V8 model while providing the fuel economy you would find in a similar sedan powered by an inline-four engine.
