Kia Soul Red Zone launched in U.S.

Kia has prepared a special edition for its second-gen Soul that goes by the name of Red Zone. It takes its inspiration from the Track’ster concept shown by Kia last year and is based on the Soul Plus variant of the 2014 model year. The vehicle has received a white paint job and a beefed up body kit, as well as several red exterior accents which can be noticed on the side skirts, front grille and both front and rear fascia. The last modification to the exterior is related to those 18-inch alloy wheels which are exclusive to this model.

The cabin is now adorned with black cloth seats, leather steering wheel and dash hood, black floor mats and sport pedals. Power comes exclusively from a 2.0-liter GDI engine outputting 164 bhp and a peak torque of 151 lb-ft. The motor works together with a six-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front axle.

Only 2,000 cars will be built, with deliveries commencing in Q1 2014.
