2014 Kia Soul launched in New York

Kia is showcasing at 2013 New York Auto Show the second generation of the funky Soul which is 15.24mm wider than its predecessor and also has a 20.3mm longer wheelbase. The height has remained the same at 1610mm, while the lift gate has a 60.9mm wider opening. Clients will have the possibility of buying the car with one of the new seven colors, including the Solar Yellow and Inferno Red hues seen in these official photos. The car will be offered in Base Soul, Soul Plus and Soul Exclaim trims and will be available as standard with a six-speaker audio system, power door locks, power windows, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, telescoping steering wheel and cruise control.

Base Soul is motivated by a 1.6-liter engine producing 130 hp (97 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. Soul Plus rides on 17-inch wheels and comes further equipped with rear camera display, UVO eServices, auto headlights and floor console stowage box with arm rest. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter GDI rated at 164 hp (122 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque.

Soul Exclaim has the same 2.0-liter engine and is fitted with 18-inch alloys, cooled glove box, front LED positioning lights, projector headlights, fog lights, rear LED lights, automatic climate control and Supervision Cluster screen.
