Mercedes-Benz shows 2014 S-Class interior

The new S-Class will have 156 buttons and switches, with 12 of them only on the steering wheel, while another 23 are on the driver’s door. The passenger door has 13 buttons to play with, while the dashboard fascia holds 19 buttons. On the instrument panel M-B has installed 3 other buttons, along with 4 vent buttons on the dash, 10 on the front headliner and another 3 on the rearview mirror. A total of 30 (15/15) buttons are on the rear left and right passenger doors, plus 2 from the vent buttons of the rear center console and another 9 on the rear console. The rear headliner boasts 4 buttons and the rear drink holder has another 3.

Aside from the multitude of buttons and switches, the 2014 S-Class has two larger 12.3-inch, high-resolution screens and an updated COMAND Online system which has an Intel Atom CPU. The car can be ordered with reclining seats that offer a maximum of 43.5 degrees of back rest adjustment, while the active perfuming system will take care of all the bad smells inside the cabin and turn them into a more pleasant scent.

Mercedes-Benz also said the car can be configured with a powerful 1500-watt Burmester sound system that has no less than 24 speakers and is capable of providing a 3D effect. The new S-Class has 14 air cushions inside the backrest for the massage system that offers six different programs.
