The Nissan Murano has gained a hybrid version in time for this year’s edition of the Auto Shanghai show in China. The model is scheduled to hit dealerships in China later this year, while details about a global availability are not accessible at this time. Nissan says the model enables the company to provide more “sustainable mobility options” in China and comes with a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter supercharged gasoline engine working closely together with an electric motor as well as a compact-sized lithium-ion battery pack. Nissan isn’t saying a word about the powertrain’s output but it seems the hardware setup has been sourced from the Pathfinder Hybrid.
This means that we should expect the Nissan Murano Hybrid to offer a combined output of 250 bhp (186 kW) and 243 lb-ft (329 Nm) of torque. According to the Japanese marque, the model will have “excellent acceleration” while offering the fuel efficiency you would expect from a similar model that has a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine.
