Volkswagen CrossBlue Concept updated for Los Angeles Auto Show
The Volkswagen CrossBlue concept was unveiled several months ago at Auto Shanghai and now the German marque has announced plans to show an updated version this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car will look virtually the same as the previous concept but there will be some changes in terms of specifications. Power will come from the same plug-in hybrid setup encompassing a gasoline TSI V6 turbocharged engine working together with two electric motors. The lithium-ion battery has been downgraded from a 9.9 kWh unit to a 9.8 kWh.
Initially, Volkswagen said the CrossBlue concept was capable providing an electric range of 20.5 miles (33 km) but now we found out the updated variant will only do 13 miles (20.9 km). In addition, the overall range of the concept has been diminished from 739 miles (1,190 km) to 570 miles (917 km).
