Wimmer RS unleashes 435 HP from the KTM X-BOW GT
The KTM X-BOW GT is not the type of vehicle you would imagine being popular among aftermarket specialists but even so Wimmer RS has decided to develop a power boost for the track toy. At the heart of this customized X-BOW GT is the same turbo 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine borrowed from Audi which in its standard configuration puts out 285 HP and 420 Nm. However, after the engineers at Wimmer RS worked their magic, the engine is now capable of outputting no less than 435 HP and a maximum torque of 500 Nm.
Thanks to these upgrades, the KTM X-BOW GT by Wimmer RS will jump to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds so it’s 0.9 seconds quicker than the stock model. The 0-120 mph (0-193 km/h) run will take just 11.7 seconds, prior to a maximum speed of 153 mph (246 km/h). These figures were attainable after remapping the ECU and mounting a revised turbocharger. There’s also a custom sports exhaust system, forged pistons, H shaft rod and a new fuel pump.
