120 HP 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet engine now available for Fiat 500L, 500L Trekking and 500L Living
Fiat has disclosed plans to offer a beefier engine for the 500L, 500L Trekking and 500L Living models. This is good news taking into consideration the trio is significantly heavier in comparison to the model they are based on, the Fiat 500. The engine in question is a 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet gasoline engine capable of developing 120 HP and a maximum torque of 215 Nm which should provide all three cars with a “prompt acceleration.” This engine is already on sale and can be ordered for all three models, with pricing starting in Italy at 20,920 euros for 500L, from 21,626 euros for 500L Trekking and from 20,063 euros for 500L Living.
When fitted with this engine, the Fiat 500L will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 10.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 117 mph (189 km/h). It might not be an impressive figure but let’s not forget the version equipped with the 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo engine will complete the task in 12.3 seconds.
