2-Series Active Tourer unveiled, BMW’s first ever FWD car
This is BMW’s first ever front-wheel drive model which will be shown to the public next month during the 84th Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is 4342mm long, 1800mm wide and 1555mm tall while the wheelbase stretches at 2670mm. It can be had with an optional Sport Line Package featuring bespoke air intakes, high gloss black accents, sport seats, contrast stitching, high-gloss black trim and a variety of exclusive 16- and 17-inch wheels. Opt for Luxury Line Package and you get different alloys, a high-gloss chrome grille, different seat upholstery, a leather-covered sport steering wheel and chrome accents.
The vehicle can also be had with an M Sport Package that has a high-gloss black grille, an aerodynamic body kit, sport-tuned suspension, 17- or 18-inch rims, along with M-branded door sill plates, anthracite roof liner, special sports seat upholstery and an M leather-wrapped steering wheel.
BMW will sell the 2-Series Active Tourer as a 218i model with a 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine rated at 136 HP and 200 Nm. There’s also the 225i with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter motor outputting 231 HP and 350 Nm, while the 218d version comes with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter diesel generating 150 HP and 330 Nm. Other models will follow, such as the 216d, 220d and 220i, as well as xDrive derivatives of the 220d and 225i.
