2013 Dodge Charger AWD available with a V6 Pentastar and a V8 HEMI
Dodge has revised the Charger for the upcoming 2013 model year. They did this by adding an all-wheel drive version for those that aren’t so keen on driving a RWD car on a snowy and icy road.
This 2013 Charger AWD is offered with a choice of two engines, a “sport mode” for the gearbox, paddle shifter, along with several comfort and styling features.
Those two engines in question are a V6 Pentastar that produces 300 hp and a larger and more powerful HEMI V8 which is capable of generating 370 hp.
The Detroit-based automaker mentions that the Sport package can be ordered for the SXT and SXT Plus AWD versions of the Charger and costs an extra $1,395. This represents a nice 40 percent savings discount in comparison to before when you had to order the goodies separately. This Sport package for the 2013 Charger rides on 19-inch polished alloys that have Gloss Black pockets and are wrapped around in all-season performance tires. Other than that, you also get a boot spoiler, a gloss black split-crosshair grille surround and paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel with a sport mode transmission calibration.
Aside from these goodies, Dodge also throws in for the SXT and R/T variants sport seats covered by a black cloth, while the Plus variants feature red or black heated Nappa leather sport seats. As standard on all versions with AWD is the Beats Audio sound system that has a 12-channel amplifier, 2 woofers, 8 speakers and a dual-voice coil subwoofer mounted in the trunk.
The AWD version of the Charger will go into production this month, while dealerships will get it in Q1 2013. The most affordable Charger AWD will set you back $32,690 without the $995 destination fee.
