2013 Honda Civic heading to L.A. Auto Show
Through September this year, Honda managed to increase Civic sales by a considerable 40 percent to no less than 234,029 units. Even so, the Japanese automaker decided to come out with a facelift for its popular model in order to solve the issues noted by buyers and motorist journalists from all over the world. Some of the reported problems include the car’s rather boring aesthetics and the quality of the interior cabin which needed some serious improvements for a car worthy of the Honda badge. This is the facelifted model which will make its public debut at the end of the month during the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sales will commence the same day.
As you can see, we only have two pictures with the 2013 Honda Civic which show us that some of the new styling cues have been borrowed from the firm’s larger Accord model, while the back of the car has also received some updates, featuring new combination lamps that are now extending into the boot. The rear bumper has a new shape with a redesigned lower diffuser that is finished with a honeycomb mesh vent.
In regards to the engines that will be offered for the Civic facelift, most of them will be carried over from the outgoing model. However, Honda did say that the 2013MY will get a series of tweaks that are aimed to improve the vehicle’s “fun-to-drive nature”. Full details and additional photos will be offered during the L.A. show. Stay tuned.
