2013 Nissan GT-R arrives in Europe
Nissan revealed the refreshed GT-R during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show as a 2014MY and now it has reached European territory where it’s sold as a 2013 model year. At a first glimpse you would be tempted to say that it’s the exact same car and Nissan didn’t make any changes but it’s not the case.
The reason for this is because the V6 3.8-liter bi-turbo is now unleashing 545 hp and a maximum torque of 627 Nm (463 lb-ft). In addition, the updated GT-R comes with high-output injectors, a new oil pan baffle, as well as a new relief valve for the turbocharger bypass.
The list of updates for the new model year doesn’t stop here as Nissan’s engineers have made several reinforcements to the dash panel bar and instrument member panel in order to boost the car’s overall rigidity. Further revisions were applied to the front anti-roll bars, springs and dampers to provide the supercar with an improved stability during high speeds. Reliability has also been increased thanks to the reinforced driveshaft.
As a consequence to these in-depth revisions, the revised Nissan GT-R complete the 0-62 mph run in only 2.7 seconds, making it 0.1 seconds faster than the outgoing model. It can also do a lap of the Nordschleife in 7:18.6 whereas its predecessor did it in 7:21.
