2014 BMW X5 enters production
BMW has started producing the third generation of the X5 at the firm’s assembly line located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The very first unit is an X5 M50d built specifically for a European dealer which is going to use the car to “generate excitement and sales”. The car was configured with a Mineral White exterior paint complemented by a Nappa Mocha leather interior cabin. Production of the second-gen BMW X5 ended on June 28th with an xDrive50i model finished in Titanium Silver Metallic which had the optional M Sport package along with sand beige perforated Nevada leather upholstery.
The 2014 BMW X5 can be equipped with one of the following engines: a V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo rated at 450 HP, a six-cylinder diesel 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo outputting 258 HP (190 kW) or a tri-turbo six-cylinder 3.0-liter diesel capable of generating 381 HP (280 kW) and a maximum torque of 546 lb-ft (740 Nm).
