Mercedes-Benz has announced plans of offering the 2014 E250 BlueTec model in the United States. The company says it will be the most affordable E-Class in North America as it carries a starting price of $51,400, without taking into account the destination & delivery charges. If you want the 4MATIC all-wheel drive setup, prepare to pay at least $53,900 (without the taxes). Mercedes-Benz USA has announced the 2014 U.S.-spec E250 BlueTec is scheduled to reach dealerships very soon so most likely you already can place an order for the “budget” E-Class.
Motivation is provided by a 4-cylinder, 2.1-liter turbocharged mill outputting 195 bhp and a peak torque of 369 lb-ft. It works together with a 7-speed automatic gearbox which allows the premium mid-size sedan to return 28 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway or 27 mpg city / 42 mpg hwy when selecting the aforementioned 4MATIC which will be optional.
