The Cayenne S is no longer available with the naturally aspirated V8 4.8-liter as this has been replaced with a Porsche-developed twin-turbo V6 3.6-liter providing an additional 20 PS and 50 Nm for a grand total of 420 PS (309 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). It needs 5.5 seconds / 5.4 seconds with Sport Chrono Package for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run and tops out at 161 mph (259 km/h). The previous variant did the run in 5.6 / 5.5 and reached 151 mph.

Also new is the Cayenne S E-Hybrid variant that combines a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine with an electric motor. The combustion engine develops 333 PS (245 kW) while the electric motor generates 95 PS (70 kW), providing a combined output of 416 PS (306 kW) and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft). It’s enough for a 0-62 mph run in 5.9 seconds and a 151 mph (243 km/h) top speed while in electric mode it can hit 77 mph (124 km/h) and travel for up to 22 miles (36 km).
