Radical has introduced the SR8 RSX last week in Spain at the Circuit de Barcelona ahead of the model’s market launch scheduled for 2015. This is a high-performance racecar featuring a tubular steel chassis wrapped around in a composite body and equipped with lightweight 17-inch wheels. It benefits from race-spec brakes and is motivated by a V8 3.0-liter engine generating 440 bhp (328 kW) and 379 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The engine works together with a paddle-shift seven-speed gearbox and thanks to a low curb weight of only 860 kg (1,896 lbs) the SR8 RSX should be an absolute rocket.
Radical has also launched the SR3 RSX that has a Suzuki-derived four-cylinder 1.5-liter engine generating 210 bhp (156 kW) and 168 Nm (124 lb-ft). While it not might sound overly impressive, it’s still enough to allow the vehicle sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in 3.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
