2015 Skoda Superb Combi introduced with best-in-class trunk space
The 2015 Skoda Superb Combi has made its online debut and will be heading to Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled for September. Now in its third generation, the mid-size wagon from Czech Republic comes with a 27-liter larger trunk compared to its predecessor which means it can now hold 660 liters of cargo. By folding down the rear seats, this capacity grows to a class-leading 1,950 liters. The rest of the car has remained virtually the same as the hatchback so it comes with a massive 2841mm wheelbase along with generous 1584mm front and 1572mm rear tracks.
The engines will be carried over and will begin at 120 PS for the entry-level motor and rise to 280 PS for the hottest variant, with FWD and AWD both available depending on engine choice. All these engines meet Euro 6 standards and come with stop/start & brake energy recovery systems, thus helping cut fuel consumption by as much as 30%.
The 2015 Skoda Superb Combi is going to come with a latest-gen infotainment system with support for MirrorLink, Android Auto, CarPlay and LTE internet connection. Depending on trim, the mid-size estate can be equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control, Dynamic Chassis Control, rearview camera and a Blind Spot Detect system.
Skoda has announced the new Superb Combi will go on sale in the second half of September.
