2016 Seat Ibiza teased
Seat’s Ibiza supermini is about to reach the fifth generation as we are only two years away from the all-new model which will have some big shoes to fill taking into consideration all four generations so far were sold in a total of more than five million units. The model is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and on a special event organized for this reason Seat showed a slide of all four generations as well as with the upcoming fifth-gen model, offering a sneak preview of what to expect from the Ibiza’s successor.
As you can see, the design will be a major departure from today’s model and chances are it will look a lot like a smaller Leon, featuring an angular design and an X motif on both fascias. It will ride on a shortened variant of the MQB platform which will also be used on the next generation Volkswagen Polo and Audi A1. Power will come from a variety of small and efficient 3- and 4-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines all wrapped up in what will end buying a lighter package.
