2017 Mazda CX-9 debuts in LA
The wait is finally over as the 2017 Mazda CX-9 has made its world premiere this week in Los Angeles. Perhaps one of the most attractive crossovers ever, the all-new CX-9 is a little bit shorter than the old one even though it comes with a 55 mm longer wheelbase. It adopts the latest version of the company’s KODO design language and comes with a dual exhaust arrangement along with a choice of 18- to 20-inch wheels. You will notice the rather generous front grille, a spoiler mounted on the tailgate, rounded fenders and standard LED headlights.
Stepping inside the cabin, the 2017 Mazda CX-9 has a three-row arrangement and upper-spec materials along with a choice of either a 7- or 8-inch infotainment system. Thanks to thicker windows and 24 kg of sound-deadening mats, the new model is much quieter than the old one and it has also gained LED accent lighting and all-new front seats that seem considerably more comfortable.
Motivation comes from a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine developing 227 bhp when running on 87 octane fuel and 250 bhp when using 93 octane gas. The motor works with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and can be optionally linked to an all-wheel drive arrangement.
Sales of the 2017 Mazda CX-9 will kick off in United States next spring.
