Fiat 500 1957 Edition to bring some retro flavor in L.A.

Fiat will be showcasing next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show a special edition of the 500 city car as a throwback to the original 500. Dubbed “1957 Edition”, the car is based on the 500 Lounge trim and adopts a retro-themed exterior which can be painted in one of the following colors: Celeste (celestial blue), Bianco (white) and Verde Chiaro (light green).

The vehicle has also been equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, Bianco roof and unique 16-inch rims wrapped around in all-season performance tires.

Step inside the cabin and you will find Marrone (brown) leather-wrapped seats, upgraded sound system and metallic accents. There are also Avorio-painted “1957” graphics, bespoke key fob with a Marrone casing and a leather-covered steering wheel.

Power comes from a 1.4-liter MultiAir gasoline engine rated at 101 bhp and 132 Nm of torque working together with either a standard 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the Fiat 500 1957 Edition will be disclosed closer to the car’s market release scheduled for spring 2014.
