Seat Leon Eurocup series announced

Following the introduction of the Leon Cup Racer about seven months ago, Seat is proud to announce the Leon Eurocup series which will be organized for the 2014 season and will travel to six different locations around Europe. The calendar has not been finalized but we do know the season will kick off in May and that the race weekends will begin on Friday. It will contain two free training sessions, qualifications and two races. Drivers will get to use the Seat Leon Cup Racer which can already be ordered at a starting price of 70,000 euros, with deliveries beginning next April.

This is essentially a race-spec lightweight version of the road-legal model which is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine outputting 330 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. The power is delivered to the front wheels through either a six-speed DSG or a sequential race-spec gearbox. It has been fitted with an aerodynamic body kit, 18-inch alloy wheels, lighter seats, a digital instrument cluster and a roll cage.
