Tata launches ZEST baby sedan
Indian automaker Tata Motors has introduced today in New Delhi a new compact sedan that goes by the name of Zest and will be a global model. The vehicle adopts the new DesignNext styling language developed by Tata Motors and has the following physical dimensions: 3995mm length, 1695mm width and 1570mm height, with a curb weight of only 2,348 lbs (1,106 kg). It rides on the company’s X1 platform and benefits from a newly developed HARMAN infotainment system encompassing a 5-inch touchscreen display that comes with navigation and Bluetooth support.
Under the hood it can be equipped with a newly developed 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder Revotron turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 85 HP at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm available between 1,750 rpm and 3,000 rpm.
Tata Motors will also be offering a diesel 1.3-liter Quadrajet delivering 90 HP and 200 Nm. Also new is a 5-speed automated manual gearbox which should provide a smoother operation and lower fuel consumption.
