Bentley launches Hybrid Concept, based on the Mulsanne

Bentley has released in Beijing a Mulsanne-based Hybrid Concept which announces the company’s intentions of offering a plug-in hybrid system on a production model in the near future. Such a system promises to cut CO2 emissions by 70 percent while output will go up by an impressive 25 percent. The concept pictured here is capable of running solely on electric power for 31 miles (50 km) during which it will not have any CO2 emissions. The plug-in hybrid system will make its debut in 2017 on the company’s first ever SUV which will come out in 2016 with a conventional powertrain.

Getting back to this Mulsanne-based concept, it has received several copper accents on the outside while the interior cabin benefits from Mulliner Driving Specification upholstery with copper cross-stitching. Similar copper touches have been applied onto the instruments, switch bezels and veneer fascias.
