2013 Toyota RAV4 arriving in U.S. showrooms next month from $23,300

The fourth generation of the Toyota RAV4 is on its way to reaching dealerships in the United States. This will happen as early as next month and it will be offered exclusively with a four-cylinder engine and the choice of either a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive configuration.

The pricing begins from $23,300 not including the handling and destination fee which will set you back an additional $845. For this money you will be getting the entry-level LE FWD variant while the top-spec variant would have to be the Limited AWD that has a sticker price of $28,410.

Like we said before, the 2013 Toyota RAV4 comes in the U.S. with a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine capable of generating 176 HP and a peak torque of 172 lb-ft. The engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. In other words, the Japanese company has decided to stop offering the V6 engine for the 2013 model year. Toyota says that the FWD versions of the new RAV4 are able to return an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. AWD models return 22 mpg city / 29 mpg highway.

The prices of the 2013MY are comparable to the model soon to be replaced as the base 2012 FWD model with a 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine costs $22,650 without the destination and handling fee, while the high-end Limited AWD fitted with a V6 3.5-liter costs $28,650. The new one will be offered in three trim levels called LE, XLE and Limited. The AWD system is available for an extra $1,400 on all trim levels.
