Citroen E-MEHARI revealed as production model

The Citroen E-MEHARI has made its online debut as a production model and will be effectively launched next spring. It’s basically a follow-up to the Cactus M concept exhibited back in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and is the result of a joint development with the Bolloré Group. The model is actually based on the Bolloré Bluesummer convertible, but with a new look and you can clearly tell it’s a Citroen thanks to the numerous Cactus styling cues. It has a familiar alloy wheel design and comes with plastic body cladding, a removable roof, a thermoformed plastic body, silver windscreen and a folding rear bench.

Under the hood resides an electric motor capable of developing 67 bhp (50 kW) which is enough to grant a top speed of 68 mph (100 km/h). The Citroen E-Mehari has been fitted with a 30 kWh battery pack that has enough juice for up to 124 miles (200 km) on a single charge. Once you run out of battery juice, a full recharge from a 16A socket takes 8 hours while using a 10A socket will require 13 hours to complete the recharge.

The Citroen E-MEHARI is going to be assembled in France at the PSA Peugeot Citroen factory.
