Taking a video tour with the 2014 Chevrolet SS

John Fitzpatrick who works at Chevrolet as the firm’s manager for performance cars has taken a video tour of the 2014 SS. The car will go on sale in Q3 2013 and is the first model to wear the Chevrolet badge which will be offered with a rear-park assist system which helps during parallel parking. The American carmaker is describing its latest product as a “rear-wheel-drive performance sedan” which is true thanks to the V8 6.2-liter LS3 engine producing 415 bhp (309 kW) and 562 Nm (415 lb-ft). The entire horsepower is transferred to rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring TAPshift paddles.

The vehicle stops efficiently thanks to the ventilated 355mm rotors featuring four-piston, two-piece calipers provided by Brembo. The 2014 Chevrolet SS sits on 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in Bridgestone tires. It has a MacPherson strut front suspension along with a multi-link independent rear arrangement. Other features worth mentioning include electronic power steering, leather upholstery, eight-way power-adjustable front bucket seats, ice blue ambient lightning and a Bose audio system with nine speakers.
