2014 Seat Leon ST photos surface the web
Spanish automaker Seat is preparing the launch of the more practical ST variant of the Leon. Official photos with the car have already surfaced the Internet, before what will probably be a public debut in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. This will be the third body style of the third-gen Leon lineup which currently includes the five-door hatchback launched in 2012 and the three-door coupe (known as Leon SC) which came out a few months ago. The Leon ST will offer 587 liters of cargo space, which is slightly less than the Golf VII Variant’s 605 liters and the Octavia Combi’s 610 liters.
Seat didn’t work a lot as far as changing the car’s looks since it looks virtually the same as the hatchback except for the extended rear, different alloy wheels and roof rails. Engine family will be borrowed from the other two cars so expect a variety of TSI and TDI engines, with output ranging from 86 HP (63 kW) to 184 HP (135 kW). We already know the Seat Leon ST will be available on the UK market in a right-hand drive version fitted with an all-wheel drive setup taken from the Golf VII 4MOTION model.
