Honda Accord Hybrid returns 50 mpg

Japanese automaker Honda is proud to announce the 2014 Accord Hybrid has entered production phase at the firm’s factory in Marysville, Ohio. Honda says the model represents the most fuel-efficient four-door gasoline-powered sedan in North America. It comes with an Atkinson-cycle, 4-cylinder 2.0-liter conventional engine which works in collaboration with an electric motor that generates 166 bhp. Honda says the 2014 Accord Hybrid can return 50 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway and 47 mpg in the combined cycle. These figures are a bit higher than what Honda originally estimated.

The 2014 Accord Hybrid has been fitted with bespoke alloys, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), rear spoiler, blue accents and the usual hybrid badging. Inside the cabin we notice the revised infotainment display which gives the driver the possibility to look at the instant fuel economy, as well as at the status of the hybrid system.
