German tuner AC Schnitzer has taken the wraps off the ACZ4 5.0d based on the BMW Z4. They used the sDrive 23i version to turn it into a one-off concept which unlike the standard car has replaced the six-cylinder 2.5-liter engine with a tri-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel sourced from the M50d. It generates an impressive 430 HP (316 kW) and 619 lb-ft (840 Nm) torque which is enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of more than 186 mph (300 km/h). It also boasts an adjustable racing suspension, lightweight exhaust system, high-performance brakes and carbon fiber race seats.
The ACZ4 5.0d gets the limited slip differential from the M3 E92 and has also received an eight-speed automatic transmission. It rides on 19-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels and benefits from a carbon fiber spoiler and a ventilated hood. AC Schnitzer has also installed a carbon fiber boot lid, rear skirt, roof, along with aluminum pedals and painted trim for the inside.
Although it’s billed as a concept, the tuner says an identical configuration would set you back €113,965.
