Italian specialty marque ATS has taken the wraps off the Sport 490 Stradale which is essentially a road-legal version of the track-only Sport 490. It has received a limited slip differential along with an updated suspension and a different transmission featuring a reverse gear. In addition, the interior cabin is more refined while a handbrake and headlights have also been added to make it road worthy. The ATS Sport 490 Stradale tips the scales at around 500 kg (1,102 lbs) and manages to do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 3 seconds on its way to a maximum speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
Its heart and soul is a four-cylinder, 1.4-liter Extreme engine capable of developing 235 bhp (175 kW) at 10,000 rpm wrapped around in a body which is only 35 kg heavier than the track version. Numerous optional goodies are available such as the TTX Ohlins dampers, Tarox 280 brake kit while as standard it gets 15-inch split trims from Braid and wrapped around in Avon CR500 semi slick tires.
