Audi announces armored A8 L Security
Audi has released the A8 L Security which was designed to comply with the class VR 7 ballistic protection standards and some of the car’s armor plating meets the requirements for VR 9 and VR 10 protection. The vehicle is 5.27 meters long and has a generous 3.12 meter wheelbase, while its design is just about the same as the standard model. It should be noted Audi is offering a wide array of safety-related equipment such as an LED signal system for convoy driving, a smoke extractor, a fire extinguisher system, an emergency exit system and an emergency fresh air system.
Motivation is provided by a TFSI 4.0-liter V8 engine delivering 435 HP and 600 Nm which is enough for a 0-100 km/h run in 7.5 seconds, with fuel consumption standing at a decent 10.9 liters / 100 km. There’s also a larger W12 FSI outputting 500 HP and 625 Nm that enables the armored sedan to hit 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 210 km/h which is electronically-limited.
