Audi is displaying these days at IAA their brand new e-tron quattro concept. It’s a sneak preview of their 2018 Q6 all-electric crossover and in conceptual form it blends in sporty and rugged styling cues which make the vehicle stand out in this crowded segment of high-riding models. It uses a front-mounted electric motor working together with two rear ones to generate a combined output of 435 PS which can increase to 503 PS & 800+ Nm if the overboost function is activated.
The Audi e-tron quattro concept manages to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in as little as 4.6 seconds and will top out at an electronically-governed 130 mph (201 km/h). More importantly, the lithium-ion battery built into the floor has enough energy for a range exceeding 500 km (311 miles)
Recharging the battery takes just 50 minutes when using 150 kW DC electric current, but the vehicle can also be recharged wirelessly as it support inductive charging. It is 4.88 meters long, 1.93 meters wide and stands at 1.54 meters tall while the body has been aerodynamically optimized to ensure a drag coefficient of 0.25 which is a great result for this type of vehicle in the SUV segment.
