Before the 2013 model year of the Audi R8 arrives in the United States, the Ingolstadt-based automaker Audi has prepared to send off the 2012MY R8 with these Exclusive Selection Editions for the R8 V8 and the R8 V10. They plan on making 20 units of the V8-powered R8 Coupe and 30 units of the V10-powered R8 Coupe. The first one comes with the regular V8 4.2-liter engine that pumps out 430 hp and a peak torque of 316 lb.-ft., while the other is motivated by a beefier V10 5.2-liter unit that is capable of producing no less than 525 hp. Both these engines can be mated with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The latter will be ditched for the 2013MY in favor of a 7-speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox.
The 2012 Audi R8 V8 Exclusive Selection Edition is distinguished by the Daytona Gray matte exterior finish, carbon fiber diffuser and splitter, black grille surround, red brake calipers, R8 GT tail lamps and 19-inch five-arm double-spoke titanium wheels. Inside the cabin it gets a bespoke leather package, Crimson Red elements with contrasting stitching, leather Navigation surround, carbon fiber trim décor, Bang & Olufsen Sound System, a thicker contoured leather multifunctional steering wheel and Navigation with Audi Music Interface.
The 2012 Audi R8 V10 Exclusive Selection Edition is wearing an Ibis white exterior, with a contrasting Brilliant Black finish for the exterior mirrors, sideblades, rear license plate surround, along with R8 GT tail lamps and bi-color, e-tron 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside there is a black leather upholstery, various Ibis finishes, Alabaster White contrasting stitching, carbon fiber trim, leather Navigation surround, along with a contoured steering wheel.
