Audi SQ7 confirmed with V8 TDI 4.0-liter rated at 435 PS
The identity of the engine which will power the upcoming Audi SQ7 has been revealed. According to Autoblog.nl, the high-performance SUV from Ingolstadt is going to feature a V8 4.2-liter TDI engine developing an impressive 435 PS (320 kW). The amount of generated torque is not known at this point but it should be around 900 Nm at least taking into account the same engine inside the A8 flagship model produces 850 Nm. This should be enough power to allow the vehicle run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in five and a half seconds and top out at approximately 186 mph (300 km/h).
In terms of design, the Audi SQ7 is going to look slightly different than the other versions as its getting its own front and rear bumpers, a quad tailpipe exhaust system, along with enlarged brakes, bespoke wheels and a different body paint.
It will cost a significantly amount of money as everyone is expecting a starting price of more than €80,000 since the 3.0 TDI quattro version starts at €60,900. All the juicy details should be disclosed in the weeks to come since the Audi SQ7 is bound to show up at the Frankfurt Motor Show due in mid-September, with sales to kick off before the year’s end.
