Audi TT now available with 1.8 TFSI engine

The third generation Audi TT can now be had with a four-cylinder, 1.8 TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine in Europe. This has lowered the starting price of the model by €2,900 compared to the previous base version and this new engine offering will provide 180 PS (132 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. If connected to the standard six-speed manual transmission, the model will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 6.9 seconds while the S tronic-equipped version needs an extra 0.1s. Regardless of gearbox transmission, the Audi TT Coupe will top out at 150 mph (241 km/h).

The Roadster version is a little bit slower due do the extra weight commanded by the roof mechanism so it will run the sprint in 7.2 seconds with the manual and in 7.3 seconds with the S tronic while the maximum speed stands at 147 mph (237 km/h).

As far as fuel consumption is concerned, the Audi TT manual does 7 – 7.6 liters / 100 km with corresponding CO2 emissions of 129 – 138 g/km while the S tronic-equipped model needs 7.1 – 7.7 liters / 100 km and emits 132 – 142 g/km.
