Audi unveils 2015 A6 facelifted range
Audi is proud to introduce the refreshed A6 range which now is entirely powered by Euro 6-compliant engines. Those willing to pay more can get the car with optional LED or matrix LED headlights which both come with dynamic turn signals while the styling revisions are subtle yet somehow make the cars look more refined compared to the prefacelift models. Audi is launching two economical “ultra”-badged models equipped with a 1.8 TFSI and a 2.0 TDI engine, with the former allowing the A6 consume 5.7 liters / 100 km while the latter enables a fuel consumption of just 4.2 liters / 100 km.
Opt for the A6 ultra TDI and you also take advantage of glass fiber-reinforced polymer springs which have lowered the vehicle’s curb weight by 4.4 kg. These two ultra A6s are equipped exclusively with a new S tronic gearbox. A beefier 3.0 TDI clean diesel can be had with 218 PS, 272 PS and as a bi-turbo variant with 320 PS. The “competition” model has the same engine tweaked to deliver 326 PS and for a limited amount of time it pumps out 346 PS.
The S6 versions have a bi-turbo V8 4.0-liter TFSI engine rated at 450 PS while the range-topping RS6 offers no less than 560 PS. This flagship model sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).
Deliveries of the 2015 Audi A6 facelift will begin this fall and at home in Germany prices start at 38,400 euros and go all the way up to 108,900 euros for the RS6 Avant.
