Bentley is now offering a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo on the Flying Spur
Bentley has announced the availability of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine for the Flying Spur which will be offered alongside the existing W12 6.0-liter twin-turbo. While the twelve cylinder motor outputs 617 bhp and 590 lb-ft, the smaller power unit is good enough for 500 bhp and 487 lb-ft of torque which is transferred to both axles via an eight-speed automatic gearbox developed by ZF. It will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 5.2 seconds before topping out at 183 mph (295 km/h). Bentley mentions the V8-powered Flying Spur can cover a distance of up to 520 miles (840 km).
Not a lot have changed in terms of looks over the W12 model but we do notice the V8 model has the chromed exhaust pipes shaped like the figure eight while the front bumper grilles have a black look. In addition, the center section of the Bentley winged badge now has a red finish.
