BMW teases 3.0 CSL Hommage concept

BMW has published a teaser pic with the 3.0 CSL Hommage concept set to debut at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on May 22. As the name says, it will act as a tribute to the company’s classic car of the 70s and it came to life as an in-house project of the firm’s design team. There are slim chances of seeing a production car based on this concept, but nevertheless it’s nice that BMW keeps coming out with highly appealing concept. As a matter of fact, this one will be joined by another “sensational” concept at the same event.

Based on what we can see in the attached teaser image, the 3.0 CSL Hommage concept will adopt a retro-flavored body but with modern tweaks as well as “stretched flanks” and a massive rear spoiler which makes the car appear more masculine. BMW’s engineers have used carbon fiber to reduce the vehicle’s weight and there should be something quite interesting lurking underneath that hood, but the Bavarian marque isn’t willing to tell us just yet what powers the concept.
