The Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake has recently gone on sale and German tuner Brabus has already created an upgrade program for it. It’s available starting with the base CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model and they can lift the output from 201 hp to 232 hp and a maximum torque of 446 lb-ft. There’s also an upgrade for the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY which is offered in two stages. In Eco mode only the peak torque goes up to 509 lb-ft, while in Sport mode the increased torque is joined by the power boost from 261 hp to 308 hp, enough for completing the 0-62 mph sprint in 5.9 seconds. For the CLS 500 with its V8 4.7-liter engine, Brabus can tweak the engine to unleash 493 hp, up from the standard 402 hp, while the torque figure is also up to 531 lb-ft.
Brabus has also developed an upgrade program for the hotter CLS 63 AMG model which in its standard form generates 518 hp. By installing a new ECU and another water-to-air intercooler, they have managed to increase the output of the engine to an impressive 610 hp and a maximum torque of 737 lb-ft. Thanks to the power boost, the 0-62 mph sprint is completed in just 4.2 seconds, en route to a top speed of 200 mph.
Other than that, Brabus also throws in a stainless steel quad exhaust system, sport springs, electronic lowering module that lowers the car by about 35mm, along with a clutch-type limited slip differential that has a 40 percent locking rate. Customers can also fit their CLS Shooting Brake with one of the wheels offered by Brabus, with sizes varying from 8.5Jx17 to 10.5Jx20, while the AMG versions can also get a front spoiler lip as well as front and rear attachments.
