Those who aren’t satisfied with the standard output provided by the Chevrolet SS might want to know that the American tuners from Hennessey have created a major power upgrade program for the high-performance sedan which is manufactured in Australia. Under the hood of the vehicle is a massive LSX V8 7.0-liter engine that benefits from not one but two turbochargers, as well as a Callies 4340 forged steel crank, low compression pistons and a new intake manifold. This power unit also benefits from upgraded fuel injectors, a bespoke camshaft, a high-flow air filter, an air-to-air intercooler and a remapped ECU.
As a result of all these changes, the Chevrolet SS by Hennessey now delivers no less than 1,000 bhp which should make it a lot faster than the stock version which needs around 5 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint. Hennessey has also created bespoke floor mats, an individually-numbered dash plaque and several badges on the outside.
